Resa Mechling and her family have called Berkeley Lake home since 2004. They first settled in the Hermitage Plantation neighborhood, which was then part of unincorporated Gwinnett County. In 2013, their neighborhood was annexed into the city—a change Resa welcomed wholeheartedly, feeling proud to be “adopted” into a city she’d long admired. When the opportunity came to move in 2018, her family couldn’t imagine living anywhere else and simply relocated within the city.
Over the years, Resa has served her neighborhood in many ways—most recently as Communications Director for the Berkeley Lake Homeowners Association, where she kept residents informed and connected through regular emails and event updates until stepping down from the board in 2025.:
Her professional background is in graphic design and marketing, and she now works as a licensed real estate agent. Whether in creative or civic roles, Resa enjoys building community through clear communication and thoughtful service.
A Georgia native originally from Brookhaven, Resa is grateful for the opportunity to serve the city she loves. She values Berkeley Lake’s history, natural beauty, and the strong sense of community that defines it.
She and her husband Ron have raised three children here and are now enjoying life as recent empty-nesters. Resa can often be found walking her Australian Shepherd, Rose, or chatting with neighbors around town. A lifelong learner and creative spirit, she enjoys photography and all kinds of hands-on projects—from painting and sewing to crafting and repurposing. She’s always happy to lend a hand, answer a question, or identify a backyard snake.
